This started out as a kick ass role playing game initially designed by Nick and played out in character by Jeff, Tony, Duane, Eric, Nate, Michael and previously by Zak and Justin.

Now, I plan to update this blog as I strive to complete the adventure in book form that will one day be published.

Also: Head over to Deviant Art to check out more of Duane's art - and encourage him to do more EIN related stuff!

Questions - Character - Gagen Kanack (SBETT) - and Continuum Info!!

Gagen Kanack - Head of Special Bureau of Espionage and Technology Theft (SBETT)

2105 First attempts at 'dipping' into continuum for data

Questions

  • Where did the SBETT originally morph from?
  • Was this a Post-UN organization, left over from the remaining political states left – as opposed to the growing power of the corporations? My guess is yes. This was set up to counter balance the rising tsunami of corporate power and money-politics.
  • Who are the main powers here? I would think some African, European, and south American governments, as well as nice links to Asia
  • Why do I think America is out?
  • Is this not another reincarnation of CIA or KGB or Mossad or others along that line?
  • What nationality is Gagen? German perhaps
  • How old is he? Is he an old hat at this or a fresh newbie, out to make a name for himself? I would think older and wiser. Slower and more stubborn, knows how to play the poly game (even if I don’t). That would make him 70’s but with enhancements for anti-aging. That means he might be born in 2059
  • What was going on then? Was 12 years old when news of the first mutant came out, RTA, Moscovia, and Indus were getting stronger and stronger at this time, putting pressure on the respective governments to enact change; many economic problems as well as more environmental problems help to form his youth; was 25 when The Exodus happened
  • What ship did he get on and what was he doing before this? Was he already working for CIA/KGB/BND or did something trigger his need to lay down the law in a lawless time?
  • What is his personality? Will need to do a per/sheet roll
  • What is he working / overseeing now? The largest problems are with trying to nail EIN with theft, and with The Blane Constituancy, as well as trying to keep tabs on the network and anyone ‘dipping’ into the continuum.
  • I would imagine that there is a great deal of Shadow running; trying to get information that could be bought or sold to corps to destroy them or boost them up, especially in terms of stock fluctuations and manipulations of materials and poly friends; this is what the Blane Constituancy excels at and acts as a kind of leveling field for common people and corps as well as governments.
    • That leads me to another area – what is the Blane Con really doing and what are they trying to accomplish – or better – Where are they?
      • Since they are friendly with Moscovia and best buds with Scraptown, I would see Gagen trying to locate Scraptown and neutralize it, as well as bring Moscovian agents to justice, let alone trying to nail Conrad or Richter or anyone in EIN – he seems to have a vendetta against them.
  • Why the vendetta against EIN? Perhaps he is also guessing a link between the use of Aetherium and mutants for gate tech
    • He is torn by his feelings of fairness in general and his duty on the other hand. He would like to take in Scraptown, but also understands why they are doing what they are doing (with Blane’s help) [is Blane a name or a title? Binary logarithmic assholes Nth Excl], thus he sees EIN as both the victim as well as the main antagonist towards the current state, he also loathes dna manipulation like those for experimentations (mannies and miuties) Genjids are ok for him since they enhance human like powers, not other powers
  • How big is SBETT? I would think it is actually not that big. Does not use miuties or mannies, although they are sometimes considered.
  • Where is the headquarters? I would assume Mars since it would have also had to work closely – in the beginning – with PIC and Chinese forces. I would not think they would have their own asteroid base, but it is interesting. Maybe Phobos or Deimos?
  • Getting back to the reason for implementing SBETT, the continuum had to be the main point. What is this continuum? (that’s a hard one!)
  • Let’s hold off for a bit and assume that is the main creed: to police the net – that would make Blane the #1 group to deal with, and then by offshoot, Scraptown, Moscovia, FSA and EIN (EIN by default – since they are the ones getting hacked, even though they hacked Canaan and actually physically stole from them).
    • Perhaps Canaan has not complained about the theft of mutants and tech since they do not want others to know about the theft and what they are continuing to do
    • Would Gagen have any info or contacts in Canaan? I would assume yes, since he would be against genetic manipulation in general
    • I just thought of him as a strong atheist as well….which would put him in a ‘fighting mood’ with Canaan and EIN when needed
      • That’s another thought – how many people are atheist now? I would say a fair amount seeing how The Exodus was such a cluster fuck
      • Those that are still religious are VERY religious, albeit less preachy
  • At the time of story, he is getting better at locating dipped personages as well as their ‘land lines’
  • What is the continuum? Below from Wikipedia:

In physics, spacetime (or space-time, space time, space-time continuum) is any mathematical model that combines space and time into a single continuum. Spacetime is usually interpreted with space as being three-dimensional and time playing the role of a fourth dimension that is of a different sort from the spatial dimensions. From a Euclidean space perspective, the universe has three dimensions of space and one dimension of time. By combining space and time into a single manifold, physicists have significantly simplified a large number of physical theories, as well as described in a more uniform way the workings of the universe at both the supergalactic and subatomic levels.

In non-relativistic classical mechanics, the use of Euclidean space instead of spacetime is appropriate, as time is treated as universal and constant, being independent of the state of motion of an observer. In relativistic contexts, time cannot be separated from the three dimensions of space, because the observed rate at which time passes for an object depends on the object's velocity relative to the observer and also on the strength of gravitational fields, which can slow the passage of time.

The term spacetime has taken on a generalized meaning beyond treating spacetime events with the normal 3+1 dimensions. It is really the combination of space and time. Other proposed spacetime theories include additional dimensions—normally spatial but there exist some speculative theories that include additional temporal dimensions and even some that include dimensions that are neither temporal nor spatial. How many dimensions are needed to describe the universe is still an open question. Speculative theories such as string theory predict 10 or 26 dimensions (with M-theory predicting 11 dimensions: 10 spatial and 1 temporal), but the existence of more than four dimensions would only appear to make a difference at the subatomic level.

Hmm, thank you wikipedia for offering a great insight (pictoral) on what indeed Engle discovered and what Blane – and many others – use in daily life. The unpredictable and ultrahyperbolic state of another time dimension as well as another linear space dimension.
