Anyway, here is a compilation of thoughts.
I am getting to the point wondering if it wouldn't be better to start a book with a closer time period - I mean the build up to Mars and such....but then again I might just be scared off by the prequels of the Star Wars (which were terrible).

Questions
- What caused the problem with the first manned space flight? Maybe like in that movie – with the tiny fragments doing them in; however 2015 is impossible at this stage of the game – I will need to tweak that later
- Keep tabs on new propulsion systems to help in transporting people and supplies to Luna and Mars
- Where was the first manned mission located at? I would assume near the pole somewhere to have access to the ice/water to create fuel to return home. Did they return home? Some did as heroes and some stayed on.
- This is evoking strong images of Red Mars and his excellent series…..
- Chinese were on Mars for 54 years before The Exodus. They must have grown a lot!
- Jade Mt, Harmony, Endurance, Great City, New Shanghai, Heavenly Palace, People’s Station are the bases I have so far. Would there be more or less?
- How would they be situated? I would imagine that they would not be all together, but then how would they get around and meet each other? What kinds of transportation would they use?
- Rails and buggies? Flying cars? Hmm not there yet.. But maybe gaining ground, especially due to the fact of knowing about the continuum
- Where do people live? Since the atmosphere is unbreathable – still – at the current time, people have to live in domed cities or areas, or in recessed pits / craters with a covering over them. Nick previously mentioned an idea about ‘denser air’ resting on breathable air, weighing it down and that may indeed work for smaller areas and stations. But I feel the need for larger units is necessary and thus bubbled cities – at least for the time being.
- That is a good point as well – The PIC currently are trying to make the planet terraformed to maintain breathable air on Mars – Green Mars and Blue Mars scenarios.
- How are they doing this? – Moholes, asteroid deflection, mirrors, retooling soil and bioengineering plants, heavy industry (which promotes ‘pollution’ – that can’t be right!)
- What is the feeling towards China and PIC in light of them being on Mars first with a larger and larger presence?
- Of course America hates this and China is reveling in the regime change – poly change in world affairs. This is what sets the FSA in motion and on a more aggressive stance
- In all of this China is less likely to gloat, but it is a big boost to their morale
- Other countries are also lining up to bask in China’s glow – the South American and African countries most of all
- What really happened after the Lunar Disaster?
- I need to work out numbers again, but the main point is this – too many people and not enough room on Terra or on Mars or on the Moon. Basically everyone that escaped – only went out of the fire and into the frying pan – to be cooked slower but steadier
- Thus many were told to return – they did not – and others were put into stasis, which meant that they were frozen with a likelihood of being awoken later – but the other point is that all those arcs were floating around terra and luna and mars with no where really to go
- The PIC were trying frantically to build up their bases to accommodate even double and then 4 times the original number, but even that was heartwrenchingly inadequate for their current industrial and material needs – there was just not enough time to ‘make’ new buildings and infrastructure
- I see a lot of people dying in space – sad really, when they thought they were so lucky to escape…
- I also see some arcs landing on Mars with no permission from PIC – they were not shot down, but were stranded – heck maybe some were shot down. In fact, that is one way to get a lot of spare materials. Maybe they even proposed to try to get people off the arcs, send them down (how to transport so many people down to planetside?) and then crash the arc in a controlled collision to gain materials
- Regardless, some people lived – and then there were ways to revitalize the Sleepers to gain more population in regular intervals so as not to be inundated with newbies.
- That is a whole other mess – who gets ‘awoken’ first and next
- Probably a lottery system, highly favored for the remaining Chinese residents still alive – although they realize that mixing of race lines is better
